WHAT IS BUILDER GEL?
Builder gel is a strengthening gel that is applied directly over your natural nails to add structure, durability, and protection while encouraging healthy natural nail growth. It can also be used to create short extensions or repair broken nails.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GEL-X AND BUILDER GEL
Gel-X is best if you want added length with a lightweight feel.
Builder Gel is ideal if you want to strengthen and grow your natural nails while maintaining a polished, long-lasting manicure.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GEL-X AND ACRYLIC?
At 1010 Studios PVD, we specialize exclusively in gel nail systems and do not offer acrylic services.
Unlike acrylic, Gel-X does not require liquid monomer or acrylic powder and produces little to no odor during application. Gel-X is lighter, more flexible, and typically feels more natural than traditional acrylic enhancements. Because Gel-X is a soft gel system, it is also soaked off rather than aggressively filed down, making removal gentler when performed professionally.
HOW LONG DO GEL NAILS LAST?
With proper application and at-home care, Gel-X and Builder Gel services typically last 3–6 weeks. Longevity depends on your natural nail growth, daily activities, and how well you care for your nails.
DO YOU OFFER FREE REPAIRS?
Yes! If your set was completed by one of our technicians and experiences lifting, chipping, or breakage due to an application issue, we offer complimentary repairs within 14 days of your appointment. Damage caused by accidents, improper care, or picking at the nails is not covered. Please contact us as soon as possible to schedule your repair.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET A FILL OR MAINTENANCE?
Builder Gel maintenance is generally recommended every 3–6 weeks.
Gel-X sets are typically replaced every 3–6 weeks, they require a complete soak off and removal and a new full set.
WILL GEL NAILS DAMAGE MY NATURAL NAILS?
When applied, maintained, and removed correctly by a trained professional, gel nails should not damage your natural nails. Damage is most commonly caused by improper removal, such as peeling or picking off the product.
HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY GEL NAILS?
To help your nails last as long as possible:
Apply cuticle oil daily.
Wear gloves when cleaning or using harsh chemicals.
Avoid using your nails as tools.
Do not pick, peel, or bite the gel.
Schedule maintenance appointments every 2–4 weeks.

CAN I CHANGE MY LENGTH OR SHAPE AT MY APPOINTMENT?
Absolutely! For Gel X, we offer a variety of lengths and shapes, including almond, square, coffin, stiletto, and more. For natural nail services, your technician will help you choose a nail shape that works with the current length of your nails and that best fits your preferences and lifestyle.
HOW ARE GEL NAILS REMOVED?
Gel products should always be professionally removed to protect the health of your natural nails. Gel X and soft builder gel sets are soaked off, and Hard Builder Gel sets are carefully filed down.
